Varsity Head Coach - Brittany Southwick

"Hard Work and Dedication" --- that's what Coach Brittany Southwick brings to the Severna Park High School Cheerleading teams. Coach Brittany returns to her Alma Mater as the Head of the Cheerleading Program. Severna Park is where her love of cheerleading began during her freshman year. She was a 5-time Varsity Captain from 2001-2003 and received All-County Honors her senior year. Coach Brittany is finishing her Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Baltimore County, where she is studying Biology. During her time there, Coach Brittany has earned numerous academic honors including Sigma Alpha Lambda Honors and Leadership Society and Deans List. During 2007, Coach Brittany cheered for the UMBC Retrievers as the Women Basketball team attended their first NCAA Tournament. Coach Brittany also spent four years on the competitive Cheer Thunder Open All-Star team. During that time, Coach Brittany played a key part of several Nationally ranked teams. With such a decorated cheer career, Coach Brittany says her biggest accomplishment to-date would be Coaching the Severna Park Green Hornets. From 2002-2006, Coach Brittany has helped lead her team to several Grand Champion titles and numerous first place titles, and placed 2nd Nationally. In the fall of 2005, Coach Brittany, served as an Assistant for the JV Cheerleading Squad at Old Mill High School. When not cheering, Coach Brittany loves to spend time with her dog Moose and watch the Baltimore Ravens play football. She also calls herself a reality TV fanatic.

Varsity Assistant Coach - Kaitlyn Clookie

Assistant Coach Kaitlyn Clookie is a former Falcon Cheerleader and a graduate of Severna Park High School (class of 2003). She cheered during her sophomore and junior years of high school and helped as a manager during her junior year. In previous years, she cheered for the Toms River Little Indians in New Jersey for two years, and later cheered for the Raiders on Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan for a year. She also acted as a junior Assistant Coach for the Pee-Wee Raiders during her freshman year of high school. Kaitlyn recently graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. She currently works for the Department of Defense at Fort Meade. Kaitlyn is Part of the new coaching staff that started during the 2007-2008 Winter season

JV Coach - Lauren Jayne

Coach Lauren Jayne has been involved in cheerleading since SPHS' Winter 2000-2001 seasons when she became a member of the Junior Varsity team as a freshman. She went on to cheer for three more years at varsity level. During her senior year, she acted as co-captain of Varsity. Lauren received several Sportsmanship awards and was recognized as a Top Scholar Athlete. Throughout high school and college, Coach Lauren also cheered for several all-star teams including the Maryland Flyers, Cheer Thunder, and the Maryland Rockets. During this time, she competed in numerous National championships, mainly in Florida. Lauren also traveled to Dallas, Texas in 2002 to compete in the distinguished NCA All-Star National Championship. Coach Lauren began coaching at SPHS's Junior Varsity team during the 2007-2008 Winter season. The Junior Varsity squad placed 3rd in the Anne Arundel County cheerleading competition. She is currently attending the University of Maryland at College Park where she is seeking a degree in accounting.

JV Assistant Coach - Stephanie Scarci

Assistant Coach Stephanie Scarci graduated from Severna park High School in 2002 where she cheered on the Varsity squad for three years. She then cheered four years in college as well as one year on the Thunder All-Stars Open Squad in 2006. Stephanie graduated with her B.A. in accounting from Rudolph-Macon college in 2006 and currently works as an equity fund accountant at Legg Mason in Baltimore. This past season she was part of the Playmaker team for the Baltimore Ravens. She is a recent addition to the coaching staff for the 2007-2008 Winter season.
